Ages 10-18 (Ages up to 22 and 9 year olds (who can bring a level of maturity and discipline to the workshop) will also be considered. Please reach out here if you are interested but outside of the recommended age bracket.
Wagner Summer Theater is proud to present our first masters workshop series with Hollywood Vocal Coach Peisha McPhee. We are looking for 20 vocal students to join us for this special workshop. Peisha is one of the most sought after Vocal Coaches in the world and was the premiere Vocal Coach for American Idol (along with her daughter, Adriana McPhee). She was the Vocal Coach for Auli’I Cravalho (Disney’s MOANA). Peisha also helped launch the career of her other daughter, Katharine McPhee, American Idol’s memorable finalist who is now starring in NBC’s SCORPION, and in Broadway’s hit, WAITRESS. Peisha has worked with countless other hollywood and broadway child stars throughout her career. Wagner Summer Theater is delighted to bring Peisha McPhee to Des Moines to mentor our top vocal talent in the area.

Zoom Workshop with Peisha McPhee 4:30pm-6:30pm (central time)
Seminar on “Making it in the Biz” (Q/A session with parents and children)*
Group Coaching Lesson
Individual feedback for participating student vocalists
July 6-10th:
Vocal Intensive Workshop with Peisha Mcphee via Zoom Participants will be assigned in groups of 3 to work with Peisha in a 2 hour time slot in a workshop setting. Participants will also have access to listen in on all other participants Zoom sessions. We will hold one session a day the week of July 6th. Times TBD

Participants can choose to work on a piece of their choice ie. pop, broadway, disney etc. Participants will also have access to observe the other zooms with the rest of the students. They can listen to feedback that may also help them grow their skill sets.

July 9th 7:00pm central time:
Associate music producer from the hit tv show The Voice will join us via zoom for a discussion. Jenna Pristas will speak to her experience on the television side of music and production. She will discuss getting cast and behind the scenes inner workings of The Voice. She will also share ideas on how to pick music for your voice.
July 15th 7:00pm central time:
National Casting Agent: This discussion will entail information from the casting agent side ie. what they look for in child actors and how they go about selecting who they take on as clients.

Friday, July 17th:
PARTICIPANT SHOWCASE
4:30pm-8:00pm
Franklin Auditorium or Zoom:
Showcase of students with a panel to give feedback: Panel will include Broadway Actor James Earl Jones II, Jenna Pristas from the Voice and a few other special guests. Feedback will be positive and encouraging with ideas on where/how to continue to invest your time and goals.
We are hoping to have the participant's showcase live with a few family members present. This would be held at Franklin auditorium. Family would sit 6ft apart from other families. Contestants would sit with families until it is their turn to perform. All CDC guidelines for group gatherings would be followed. (Our back up plan is to have the showcase via zoom) Assuming we are able to meet live, if you don't have a comfort level performing live from Franklin, you are welcome to choose to perform over Zoom.
The panel would be present via zoom not in person.
ALL WORKSHOPS AND LESSONS WILL BE RECORDED AND CONTENT WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE TO ALL PARTICIPANTS

$160 Observation only package. Access to all of the Q&A’s and recordings of the workshops with the active participants to hear the feedback given.
